Queen Elizabeth’s very first horse was a Shetland pony named Peggy. Her Majesty got Peggy at the young age of 4 as a birthday present from her grandfather, King George V. Following this, her life-time love for horses was quickly cemented.
Her passion for horses spanned all areas in the equine word, most notably racing were she was unsurpassed, with more than 1,800 victories in her jockey's racing colours of purple, gold and scarlet..
It is widely known that her favourite horse event was The Royal Windsor Horse Show were she would freely roam around talking to people. Our youngest daughter Gracie who was 7 at the time had the opportunity to meet the Queen by chance and it will be a memory she will forever cherish.
The equine world will deeply miss her support, passion and love she gave.
EquinePatch was privileged to supply HRH and it's something we are extremely proud of.
